Cottonwood is excited to host ongoing community discussions exploring the business of art. Local gallery curators, art scene mavens, and artists of all experience levels will have an informal, round table conversation about what it takes to be a professional artist. We are introducing a new format in 2025~
Artist Café will meet a little longer, and quarterly rather than every month, with the goal of having more in-depth sessions that allow for diversity of topics, more guest presenters, coffee and libations, and more exciting surprises. THE ARTIST-GALLERY RELATIONSHIP
Maybe you’re wondering how to get your art into a gallery…maybe you’ve gotten in, but you don’t know how to keep it going. We’re here to unpack the mysterious culture of the commercial art world. Just like in any culture, there is etiquette, custom, ritual, and hierarchy…you just have to know the rules. We’ll discuss all of the above, plus entry opportunities in specific local galleries!
