CELESTIAL SKIES PAINTING WORKSHOP
INSTRUCTOR: STEPHANIE MOON
After an exciting year of visible northern lights, learn how to paint the Colorado cosmos with local artist and night sky lover Stephanie Moon. You will learn about brushes and paints that create the best visible mark making, then launch into painting the night sky through step-by-step instruction. During this class you will learn how to layer values, and create movement through the directionality of your mark making while using professional grade paints for colorful results. You will leave the workshop with a cosmic masterpiece on a 9x12 inch canvas.
MATERIALS
Supplies for this class will be provided for a $15 supply fee, payable to Stephanie at the start of class, or bring your own supplies (palette, assorted brushes and liner brushes, 9x12 canvas, Liquitex soft body paint: Titanium White, Ivory Black, Cad-Free Red Medium, Phthalo Blue Red Shade, Indian Yellow, Quinacridone Magenta (Heavy body paint is not advised)

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Stephanie Moon has been creating and teaching in Colorado Springs for the past 15 years. Originally from Michigan, Stephanie developed a deep love of nature and the arts, which is obvious in her work. Stephanie has a BFA in Painting from Western Michigan University, and 15 years of experience teaching both high school and adult students. While Stephanie’s work is characterized by intense color and concentrated mark making, she believes the key to a budding artist’s success is experimentation and the embrace of individual strengths.
Stephanie is a full-time artist whose work you can find in Colorado Springs, Estes Park, Breckenridge and Steamboat. When she is not in the studio creating and teaching, she is probably out hiking or spending time with her husband and red heeler.
